Groundbreaking

On Sunday, August 2nd, at 10:00 a.m., about 25 members and friends of Grace Church gathered to praise our wonderful God, read a few Scriptures, share some thoughts and testimonies, and stick a few shovels in the dirt to commemorate the construction of the new building the Lord has provided for us.

You can see much more on the Grace Church of South Park page on Facebook.

Building Update

Physical Address:6259 County Road 35 Jefferson, CO 80456

We are in! We received our C.O. on Thursday, June 17th and are occupying the land God has so graciously given us.

Let's briefly review some of the things God has done:

  • He gave us 39 acres of land, free and clear!
  • He gave us more than enough funds to construct the building, debt-free!
  • He gave us more than enough funds to furnish and supply the building, debt-free!
  • He gave us a Christian man who loves the Lord to be our general contractor!
  • He protected everyone who worked on the building without injury!
  • He gave approval after approval in the county and state issues without a snag!
  • He gave us a wonderful group of people who have joined in to help with some of the construction, the constant cleaning, the running back and forth into town to pick up supplies, etc, etc.
  • And He has now given us the responsibility to use this facility for His glory!

Praise the Lord!

Our Dedication Service

The Beginning of the Story of God's Provision for Grace Church

When Grace Church started down the road of seeking a permanent home we simply trusted that God would provide in His timing. We sought out the local landowners to attempt to purchase 5-10 acres of land. We initially thought that piece would take a few years to pay off if we could even find someone willing to sell. God had other plans when a local landowner donated 39 acres to the church! See the Land

We then began looking at layouts for a building and started estimating how much it would cost to put up a structure that gave us room to grow but did not go overboard. We came to an initial estimate of about $500,000 to accomplish the goal but really did not have a good estimate. When we looked at how much of a monthly payment would be required to the bank for a loan of half that amount, we knew it would be difficult if not impossible to handle for a church 3-4 times our current attendance; and so much of God's money would be wasted on interest payments. It was determined then that we would wait on God to provide the needed funds even if it took ten years or more.

An email campaign was started called the $5 Church where $5 donations are solicited across the nation through the spreading of an email outlining our desire to build a church ministry center without saddling the church with a load of debt. About $22,000 was collected through this campaign. A great amount for such a campaign and for such a small congregation, but it was obviously going to take a long time to raise what we needed at this pace. But again, we were content to wait on the Lord for as long as it took in order to do things according to His timing.

Apparently the Lord's time table was much shorter as the funds came in to complete this amazing project!
