About Us

Jefferson, Colorado is located in an area called South Park in northern Park County. While we wait for the construction of our new building (currently expected to be ready sometime in 2009), we currently meet at the Jefferson Community Center on Main Street in the downtown area of Jefferson on Saturday evenings (one block east of Highway 285 behind the Jefferson Market). We are a non-denominational church - all are welcome to attend.

Grace Church of South Park was started by a move of the Holy Spirit. Several families sensed this call to start a new church that wholly and totally follows what Scripture has to say to us, and to unashamedly follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

You will find our worship in song to be passionate and primarily contemporary in style - although we have not forsaken the old hymns (and even have a dash of southern gospel). Just as in every other aspect of this church we allow the Holy Spirit to lead in our time of singing praises to Him. We may sing for 15 minutes and we may sing much longer depending upon the Spirit's leading in a particular service.

We allow time for your participation in the service through testimony and praise of how God is working in your life, as well as taking prayer requests. This has grown to be a wonderful time of encouragement for all of us as we share the leading and working of God in our everyday lives.

Our worship in preaching is undeniably biblical. The Bible is the basis of every sermon. You won't find sermons on man-made philosophy, positive thinking, or how a Hollywood movie has spiritual relevance to your life, at Grace Church. We simply follow the example of Nehemiah 8:8 by "translating to give the sense" of the words and verses and chapters to help us live our lives with God's purpose in mind. We do not attempt to "make the Bible relevant" because the Bible is already relevant. Our goal in preaching is to show us how to apply the text to our daily lives. We do not simply wish to give you a nice "talk" on the issues of society but instead we desire to give you hope, and reason to live your life according to God's Word.

Our children join us during the song portion of our worship service and are then dismissed to have their own Children's Church for a time of learning from the Bible on their own level.

God has called us to reach out to the entire South Park area and beyond, helping people from all walks of life to develop a saving relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord, and to become a true disciple of His.

We also meet at the pastor's home on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. for a time of praise, prayer and open-discussion study of the Bible. We also have a home Bible study in Lost Park on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Call or email for details and/or directions (Pastoral@gracesp.org - 719-836-2921).

On the second Friday of each month we gather for "A Night of Praise & Prayer." This service is Spirit-led and consists of passionately singing praises, reciting pertinent passages of Scripture, hearing the testimonies of those who attend, and a time of prayer. It is a tremendously uplifting time of praise, prayer, and fellowship. We currently meet at a home in Circle R Ranch. We always start at 7:00 p.m.

Once every quarter (on the third or fourth Sunday of January, April, July, and October) we take time out for a celebration of what God has done, what He is doing, and what He is going to do. Some call these gatherings business meetings because we do go over the church finances but I guarantee you it is unlike any other church business meeting you have ever attended; it is truly a celebration, complete with a time of food and fellowship.

Many other ministries are in the development stages, including a full blown children's ministry, and we invite your input and help.

Come join us this week and experience the rebirth of hope in South Park!
