The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:21close1 Corinthians 1:21 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. (ESV) close1 Corinthians 1:21close1 Corinthians 1:21 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. (ESV) 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. (ESV) , “Since God in His wisdom saw to it that the world would never find Him through human wisdom, He has used our foolish preaching to save all who believe.” Preaching God’s message is the ultimate responsibility of a pastor. There is really nothing else like it and I am humbled by the privilege God has given me.
The vast majority of these messages are expositions of Scripture. I do not claim to be an expert in the discipline of preaching God’s Word by any means, but I do try to remain true to the original context and intent of the passage. But we must remember, not only does Paul call it foolish preaching (meaning that the message of the cross is foolish to those who do not believe – 1:18), but he also asserts that God does not call many who are wise, or mighty, or noble to preach His message (1:26); and since I fit into the category of what Paul just described, my prayer, and the prayer I ask of you, is that the words I preach would not be my own, but that the Holy Spirit would take control and work through me in spoken word, as well as the written versions.
The transcripts presented here are the thoughts and Scriptures that had been prepared for the sermon of that date. They will generally be the direction I took during the preaching time. Sometimes the written form will be very close to what was spoken, but other times, when the Holy Spirit moves me in a different direction on a particular evening, the written words will not match up well with what was spoken. Either way I trust these transcripts will help enrich your passion for God and motivate you to study His Word. I would recommend that you read AND listen to the sermons to get the full effect and to enhance your comprehension of the principles set forth.
Some of the sermons are now available to listen to online and/or download for you to copy onto a CD and listen to at your convenience (If a sermon or series is not available for download yet, and you would like it to be, please let us know – we are primarily focusing on keeping up with each current series but would be happy to start uploading from our archives if there is any interest). You may also request a CD of the sermons listed. There is currently no charge for this service. Please do not hesitate to call 719-836-2921 or email at any time Pastor Al.
I welcome your comments and questions pertaining to these studies and/or any other spiritual topic you may have interest in.
Blessings,
Pastor Al

The Thessalonians' Faith and Example 2 We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. 6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 8 For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. 9 For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
